Hourly to Salary Calculator
Convert an hourly rate to an annual salary — plus monthly, biweekly, weekly, and daily breakdowns. Adjust hours per week and weeks per year for part-time or contract work.
How to convert hourly to salary
The formula is simple: hourly rate x hours per week x weeks per year. At 40 hours/week and 52 weeks/year, a $25/hr job pays $52,000 annually. But few people work exactly 2,080 hours — vacations, holidays, and sick days reduce the actual number.
Adjusting for time off
If you get 2 weeks of paid vacation and 10 paid holidays, you still work all 52 weeks (you're paid for time off). If you're a contractor with unpaid time off, reduce weeks per year accordingly — 50 weeks is a common adjustment for 2 weeks off.
When hourly beats salary
Hourly workers get overtime pay (1.5x after 40 hours). If you regularly work 50+ hours/week, an hourly rate can yield more than a comparable salary. On the flip side, salaried positions often come with benefits (health insurance, 401k match, PTO) worth 20-30% of base pay.
